We intend to submit a planning application and seek your views on our current draft proposals. This new application is a resubmission to make improvements of an existing planning approval LCC application ref: 20F/1125 for the redevelopment of the site with mixed uses including apart-hotel and apartments.
The re-development of the ‘Parr Street Studios’ will now comprise no.76 apart-hotel rooms with secured cycle spaces, laundry room, reception area and refuse stores for the residents. Ground / First floor retail units and event space on eighth floor.
The main entrances to both the residential and retail units are from Parr Street. Each has their own front doors which are designed with full height windows to create a sleek modern street scene. High quality lighting is proposed to enhance the environment and the provision of a safe attractive street.
A sense of place is created by using an external material palette that is similar to the immediate locality. Therefore 3 different tones of brick are proposed. They compliment each other to provide a dynamic street scene. Window proportions are also a reference to the local vernacular and provide large openings for sufficient natural lighting.
The development site is within close proximity to public transport facilities. L1 bus station is a 10 minute walk away and the nearest train station is Liverpool Central (5 minute walk) and Liverpool Lime street (10 minute walk). Additionally, good pedestrian facilities surrounding the Ropewalks further emphasises this.
